As a dancer, I began formal training at the Roanoke Ballet Theatre in Roanoke, Virginia in 1997. I was trained in modern, and hip-hop as well as some classical ballet. In addition, I have had personal instructors in African and hip-hop dance that began when I was ten years old, in 1992. I have been dancing for fifteen years and doing choreography for seven years. As a choreographer, my style of dance is a combination of Modern, African and Hip-hop dance styles. This peculiar combination is a result of years of training in those specific genres of dance. In addition, I chose to combine these three techniques, to allow me to base my dance moves on the up-tempo and the slow-tempo of the music. In addition, I can take advantage of static movements as well as movements that flow. My training in these varieties of dance, has allowed me to find an eccentric style that separates my choreography from others.
