Hmmmm...Where do I start. If you wanna get technical about it, I have been dancing since the womb.....my first recital was when my mom was pregnant with me...still doing kicks and cartwheels and all. I guess dancing is just in my family's blood. My grandmother was a studio owner, my mom owns a studio, and here I am at what I feel is the peak of my teaching career. I teach at my mom's little studio in central Illinois, where the arts are pretty much dead. And also where kids have no passion for anything. But my job is to lead them to become passionate. I love every aspect of it. Everything from getting kids to listen to and respect you as a dancer and a teacher, to having them leave each class with a sense of accomplishment...of self-gratification. I love to teach, but I really love to perform. I have been a dancer for my whole life, but just within the past few years have I made the leap from teacher's kid (jsut there because mom said so) to highly passionate dancer. I am first and foremost a Hip Hop dancer/teacher. That is where my true passion lies. It's not because I chose it, but I feel it chose me. I also love jazz, tap, and lyrical. I assist in ballet classes, so I have some technique, but a ballerina I am not!
