DeStijl's Bio

I�m 20 years old and live in Australia.
At the moment I am dancing Broadway Jazz, Contemporary and I am currently learning to tap!

I love writing, designing, photography and choreographing, but I keep a lot of my work to myself because I�ve got this utterly ridiculous fear of failure.

I started dancing ballet when I was 4, but gave up when I was 16 after an ankle injury. I still follow the ballet world with a keen eye, and I�m still an avid ballet fan, I just no longer take classes.

I�m nuts about Grahame Murphy and Pina Bausch. I�m also nuts about the Sydney Dance Company.
My other favourite companies and choreographers include The Paris Opera Ballet, The West Australian Ballet, Bangara Dance Theatre ,Nederland�s Dans Theatre and Scapino Ballet.. just to name a few.
I�m becoming increasingly fascinated by the fantastic dance artists such as Iraqis Bodies emerging from the middle east, as well.

I�m a university drop-out currently studying my certificate 4 in non-clinical mental health. I�m an advocate for mental illness awareness and education, and very passionate about what I do.

My ultimate goal in life is to live in the Netherlands. I love its thriving dance and alternative culture, and It is my creative holy grail.

I�m defiantly not a traditionalist. I�m a little bit rockabilly, a little bit bohemian, a little bit burlesque and a little bit geeky. No subject is taboo and I delight in the alternative and risky in both my creative and personal endeavours.
