J1ll's Bio

I am a 30 year old (ugh) dancer and teacher. I attended ballet school at age 12 and was there for 2 years before an eating disorder nearly ended my passion for dance. I returned home and danced locally throughout high school and college. I then gave it up to get married, have children etc, and now after 8 years I have returned to my dancing roots and began teaching! It is a dream come true for me, and most of the time I don't want to leave my studio when my classes are over! I teach primarily ballet, tap and hip hop and my classes are currently aged 3-10. As a new teacher I am always looking for wisdom from more experienced teachers. I am alot older than most beginning this path and I worry about how long my body will keep up with my enthusiasm. I hope to expand my classes and take on some older classes though I know my limitations and will always only be a recreational teacher with an emphasis on developing technique properly.

Hi J1ll Thanks for the offer of friendship and I agree with JLL whats with the 30 ugh thing ? I'm in my 40's and I still enjoy running round the room pretending to be a fairy very much

It is good that you have come to dance.net. I have learned so much on here, over the years. It is a great support system, too. I saw that you say, "ugh" when you mention 30 years old. I am 55!! LOL No ughs, some people start teaching older!
