jdanca8's Bio

Born in the hills of New Hampshire, I've migrated my way to Madison WI and love it here. I danced for over 15 years with the Jenkins School of Dance and Gymnastics, and attended Keene State College earning a BA in Theatre Dance and Film. I was a four year member of the KSC Dance Team and coached the team for three years. I also taught at Sunapee High School as an artist in residency. I have been teaching at A Step Above Dance and Music Academy for four years now, and also work with their Competitive Performance Company A Step Beyond. This year the owner (and my best friend) co-produced, directed, and choreographed our brand new original holiday show A LIFETIME OF CHRISTMAS. We will be debuting this wonderful show on December 17th and it will be to benefit PROJECT LADYBUG. I also work as a judge for the American Cheer and Dance Academy, and my favorite place to be is Ocean City Maryland with my judging buddies at Reach The Beach! I love dancing and really find myself happiest when I'm dancing or teaching. I miss my dance team in NH as much as I miss my family and I keep in touch with them as much as I can. My favorite quote regarding dance is "I don't try to dance better than anyone else, I try only to dance better then myself" ~Baryshnikov I love visiting Dance.net to get incite and inspiration from other teachers and also poke around to find out whats new with other teachers.
