JulieBDancer's BioI have been dancing for over 35 years. I studied ballet/pointe, jazz & tap growing up. I was accepted into the school of Pennsylvania Ballet at 10 years old, under the director of Benjamin Harkavy. When I was about 15 years old, my teachers & family encouraged me to pursue a career in musical theatre instead of strictly ballet. So, I did and I had a blast. I performed professionally for 15 years, doing dinner theatres, TV specials, conventions, special events, promotional videos, a commercial, a couple of theme parks, cruise ship, industrials, etc. All of which allowed me to travel 3/4 of the world and live in some of the most wonderful cities in the world.I have taught ballet, jazz, tap, pointe and tumbling for approximately 20 years. I teach ages 2.5 to adult. I continue to study myself. I love taking class. Nothing better than taking a ballet class to cleanse the mind and soul. I owned my entertainment company for 12 years and my most recent endeavor was to be a studio manager for a studio that has 250+ students. I felt I had the best of both of my favorite worlds. I love the business aspects and blended that with my love of dance. I continued to teach while wearing the manager hat and that had it's share of interesting times. I have been married for 15 years to an absolutely wonderful husband that is extremely supportive of my dance, and we have two awesome children. We enjoy camping, walking together, playing video games and sharing a meal we've all participating in making. I see myself dancing forever. Even if I'm physically not able to do the steps I will share my knowledge somehow. I was fortunate to study with some wonderful teachers such Lupo Serrano, Yvonne Patterson, Irma Millard, Chet Zercher, Luigi, Phil Black, Vasile Petrutiu and Vladimir Bykov just to mention a few. I believe dance is something we need to pass down through the generations and pass it down with the greatest of care and accuracy. Friends of JulieBDancer
