KalliGirl's Bio
At the age of five I began taking ballet classes and gymnastics. From the ages of eight to eleven I began formal training in jazz, tap and ballet at Karen Robin’s School of dance. When I was ten I started learning the violin. In fifth grade I began cheerleading for football and basket ball which I continued doing until seventh grade. From seventh to eleventh grade I participated in many extra-curricular actives such as orchestra (ages 10-18), full symphony orchestra (14-18), choir (9-18), a cappella (17-18), volley ball(12-14), soft ball(10-18), swim team (14-16), yearbook, editor (16-18), Key Club (14-16), Beta Club (16-18), National Honors Society (17-18), and Student Council (14-17) . Since first grade I was educated in the International Baccalaureate system, this included advanced studies in world history, British history, western literature, eastern literature, French studies (language, culture, and literature) advanced biology, chemistry, and two years of physics. I have had the privilege of performing in the Myerson Symphony Hall in Dallas, Texas for several orchestra competitions in addition to two productions in high school with orchestra and choir. While in high school I also had the honor of performing in Carnegie Hall with the A Cappella choir. My senior year of high school I began to train and practice jazz dance again, preparing to audition for the Texas Tech University Kickline. While attending Texas Tech studying architecture, I performed with the kickline for three years, one of which I was an officer (lieutenant). We performed football pre game shows, pep-rallies, and basketball and volleyball halftimes. We also performed throughout the community for various fund raisers. During my time at Tech I also took advantage of the Ballet program and studied the Vaganova Method for one year. I was also active in the American Institute for Architects student division, Golden Key Society and Students for Social Justice. In addition I participated in the archi-tour programs to New York City, Chicago, D.C., and Central Mexico. For the summer through fall semester of my senior year I instigated an internship program in Dallas for undergraduates. Upon graduating with a Bachelors of Science in Architecture I moved to California. One year later I began taking classes at New Style Motherload under Bridget Pretzel which led to classes at the Rhythm Room and several performances with their dance troupe, the Z Girls. Work led me to the city and I now take jazz, ballet and world dance fusion at San Francisco Dance Center, Fusion Dance and hip hop at Oberlin Dance Commons, World Dance Fusion Performance Classes at City Dance Studios and hip hop at Mission Dance.
I have also performed in Oliver Twist, The Miracle Worker, A Murder is Announced, Guys & Dolls and South Pacific.
Currently I am a NFL pro cheerleader.
