Leora's Bio

I'm a deaf actress. I started singing because my speech therapist (to teach me how to talk) told my parents it would help my monotone. I learned to sight sing music with perfect pitch. I started musical theater when I was 7 and joined my best friend in a Jewish Comunity Center children's perfromance of Wizard of Oz (as the scarecrow). Since I have been in 16 other musicals and 2 operas. I sing second soprano and have taken 10 years ballet, 7 years tap and 3 years jazz. Im in college now and try to act on the side. My high school was small and had no acting department so I acted in the public musical theater of my hometown. In March 2003 I recieved hybrid cochlear implants inmy ears so I can now hear (80% of normal hearing). My voice has changed and I am thrilled to be hearing.
