My name is Marianne Delehanty and i am currently a senior Dance Major at DeSales University. I have taught at COD (conservatory of dance, a non profit teaching job run by the university) this past year and taught the Pre-ballet Class, Advanced Tap Class, and Beginner Jazz Class, as well as took the dance teaching methods class at the University. I have also been teaching at Marianne's School of Dance in Coplay, PA this past year. There I have taught Competition Solo's, Modern, Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Pointe,and Beginner Hip-Hop. I have also been dancing since 4 years old and attended Anita Ehrler's Dance Extensions in Park Ridge, New Jersey where i took every type of dance imaginable. I am most comfortable with Jazz, Lyrical, Ballet, and Modern, but can teach anything. I also have choreographed, understudied, and performed since at DeSales and teach at the Broadway Dance Camp (at my home studio) for the past 2 years during the summers. I am one of 6 children, with 4 younger sisters, so i work extremely well with children. i have a great amount of patience and i know how to control a group.

I have recently decided to start a dance company, MarDelDance. Here's a little something about us:


MarDelDance is a new and rising company full of fresh ideas, passion, and a desire for change. The primarily modern company aims to introduce audiences and society as a whole to dance-drama. Marianne Delehanty, founder and choreographer, also hopes to touch others with her work in putting them on the path towards self-discovery. Delehanty, along with the dedication and talent of Joe Hassick, combines dance with music, acting, singing and film, producing dance-drama. The company’s repertoire thus far includes Voice, a piece calling for change and challenging each audience member to stand up for his or her beliefs. The modern piece is intertwined with multi-media images. Laced, is a loose narration of a drug addiction, and Pursuit of Happiness illustrates the draining hustle and bustle of the business world. The company is currently working on an array of pieces, including Untitled Duet, A Modern Myth, Hunter, Save Him and Close Your Ears.
MarDelDance will be holding an open audition for its May 2009 performance of “The American Dream” at DeSales University. The two audition dates are January 22, 2009 from 9pm – 10:30pm and January 23, 2009 from 7:30pm-9pm. The company is also anticipating its April performance at the Green Space Studio in Queens, NY!
