toolbox77's Bio

My daughter began highland dancing when she was three years old, and competed steadily until she was 10, she stopped half way through Novice.

Unfortunately she became too ill to dance around that age, and it took a long while for a diagnosis. She spent most of her time in hospital from 13-15 years old.

She's now 15.5 years, and has been given medical clearance to begin dancing again, though she's still coping with heart arrhythmia and osteoporosis. Dancing is her reward for looking after herself and trying to stay healthy.

While she's hoping to return to competing, for now she's just starting to return to classes and beginning to do displays & shows.

We're now in the process of selling off all of her old dancing outfits to help finance the new ones. If you have anything that might help her get back to dancing, we'd really appreciate it.

Also, if you have any advice for a dancer returning after a prolonged illness (not injury) that you think might benefit her, please feel free to send a message. We've always appreciated the support of our highland dancing community, and are so glad to be back and a part of it again!

Thank you so much for the compliments about my dress. It truly was a labor of love, and I worked long and hard at it. Rachel
