Mrs. Lindsay Clark is the Director of the Tampa Bay Ballet, a pre-professional ballet school, and Tampa Ballet Theatre, the schools affiliated professional ballet company. Mrs. Clark began her dance studies at Fletcher School of Dance in Asheville, N.C. and at age 10 studied with the Boston Ballet Children's Summer Workshop. At age 13, she became a company member of Greenville Ballet. There, she performed many soloist roles in Andrew Kuharsky's ballets including the “Dew Drop” from “The Nutcracker”. Lindsay continued to dance with the company for three years and during the summers she attended the School of American Ballet (SAB) program in N.Y.C. In 1995, Lindsay was accepted and studied at of the North Carolina School of the Arts (NCSA) During this time, she had the pleasure of working with notable instructors and choreographers such as Melissa Hayden, Nina Danilova, Susan McCullough, Melinda Lawrence, Duncan Noble, Frank Smith, Gyula Pandi, Fanchon Cordell, Gina Vidal, Warren Conover, Mark Dendy and Robert Lindgren. She danced in many classical, neo-classical and contemporary ballets including “La Bayadere”, “The Nutcracker”, “Who Cares” and “Symmetries”. After graduation, Lindsay continued her studies with the American Ballet Theatre (ABT) in N.Y.C. and in 1998 she began dancing professionally with the North Carolina Dance Theatre in their production of George Balanchine's “Serenade”. During her tenure with NCDT Lindsay studied with Jean Pierre Bonnefoux, Patricia McBride and Jerri Kumrey. She later returned to Asheville, N.C. to begin her teaching career continuing to perform professionally.
Since the introduction of the Tampa Bay Ballet, Mrs. Clark continues to promote the growth and knowledge of dance through lecture, instruction, choreography and performances. Tampa Bay Ballet has performed many classical, neoclassical and original modern works since the debut performance of "An Evening at the Ballet" in March of 2008. Her choreography has been presented for the Four Days of Dance Festival as well as Oktoberfest, Earth Day Festival, The New Seeds Festival, Freedom Fest, The Pinellas County Opera League, Studio 10 News (live broadcast) and numerous charitable events for the city of Oldsmar. In December 2009, Mrs. Clark choreographed, directed and performed in Tampa Bay Ballet's first full length ballet "The Nutcracker". In the spring of 2011, Mrs. Clark directed the restaging of Marius Petipa’s infamous ballet, “Sleeping Beauty”. In addition to directing the Tampa Bay Ballet, and Tampa Ballet Theatre, Lindsay Clark is the founding President of the board of directors for the Tampa Ballet Theatre Company.
