webstAr's Bio

Hello all!

It's webstAr here, with a short little bio :)

I started dancing when I was only 3 years old, and since then I've been training extensively in ballet, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, and modern. I've also trained in tap, hip hop, and musical theatre, but those aren't my strengths by any means.

I graduated highschool in 2006, and planned on going to university at SFU to try out their dance program. Unfortunately, it was excruciatingly horrible, and I only got through one semester. I decided that what I really wanted to do was to perform, so I auditioned for several different cruise lines.

I was offered a job with Royal Caribbean on the Sovereign of the Seas and had the best time of my life and I accepted a second contract on the Grandeur of the seas. My third and final contract was on the Splendour of the Seas, with a beautiful run stopping at several different Mediterranean ports of call. It was a great life for a while, but it's not something I wanted to be permanent. So after three wonderful contracts I was done with ship-life.

Now, after 3 semesters at SFU, I'm at University of Calgary working towards a BSc in Kinesiology. My ultimate goal would be to work as a physiotherapist with dancers specifically, because I know how frustrating it is to be an injured dancer, trying to explain to someone that doesn't understand.

I'm excited to be living in a new city, with new challenges!

Hi! I read you were hoping to study kinesiology. I have been researching similar studies and found a fabulous looking school in London which may interest you. www.laban.org . . . I know you are far from the UK but you never know!

Hi, your pictures are lovely. What does it take to work on a cruise ship as a dancer? Is it good?
